Healthcare workers need our prayers.<\/span><\/p>\n

I woke up before my alarm at 5:20 a.m. this morning. Maybe it was a mother\u2019s intuition. Maybe it was an anxious heart.\u00a0 Two states away in Oklahoma, our daughter Meghan should have been waking up in her one-bedroom apartment and getting ready.<\/span><\/p>\n

She won\u2019t be setting up a home office today. She\u2019s not going to binge watch Netflix in her pajamas. And she doesn\u2019t have time to scavenge the grocery stores for sanitizer and toilet paper.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You see, our daughter is a cardiac ICU nurse. She and thousands of other healthcare professionals are going to work today to care for the sick in the middle of a pandemic. They don\u2019t know what cases will be waiting for them when they arrive. Their minds are filled with endless questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will there be enough beds? Enough ventilators? Enough protective equipment for the staff? Enough medicine? Enough time?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"nurse<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our hearts go out to her and her colleagues and I just want to be able to do something. But because of my own heart failure and suppressed immune system, I can\u2019t be there. I can\u2019t make her a home cooked meal or help her clean and organize her apartment. I can\u2019t give her a hug at the end of her 12-hour shift or drop off her favorite latte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But with my loving husband, I can and I will pray. We hope you’ll join us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prayers for healthcare workers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lord, we pray these scripture prayers for healthcare workers around the world and for our daughter, Meghan, during this time of pandemic and uncertainty.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Psalms 90:17<\/span><\/h3>\n

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

May your favor be showered upon our healthcare workers, God. Give them favor and place a hedge of protection around their bodies to guard them from illness so that they can care for the sick. Protect their families and their homes from disease. And use them, Lord. Do your works through their hands so that all may know you and experience your grace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Phillipians 4:6-7\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Don\u2019t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God\u2019s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

We know these are difficult times. And so we turn to you in prayer. We lift up our world\u2019s healthcare workers to you and ask you for their safety. We ask that you would open up supply lines and make available the materials, tools, and medicines which are so desperately needed. Father, we ask that a vaccine and a cure be found. We thank you that you have given healthcare workers the knowledge and skills they have, as well as hearts to care for others even when it means putting their own lives in danger. We ask that you be with the workers and the sick, that you would bring a calm upon them and give them the strength they need to continue serving during this pandemic. Let them know that you are with them, and bring them peace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isaiah 41:10<\/span><\/h3>\n

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Lord, we ask that you be with all the healthcare workers of this world. We know that you are there with them, fighting alongside them. And if you are with them, what can stand against them? We are comforted that you are there, beside them, in front of them, behind them, and we know you will provide strength. For that, we thank you. You are God, and you will prevail.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Psalms 34:4\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Father, we are so glad that we have you, that we can seek you and know that you will be there for us. We know we can rest because you will lift the burdens of this world from us. If we have you, we have nothing to fear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesians 3:20\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Every good thing that you have promised us through your Holy Word, we believe Lord Jesus you will fulfill them in us. We cannot even comprehend how this virus spread so quickly and how many lives have been impacted. But more than that, we cannot fathom how you will answer our prayers and abundantly care for our every need. Show us your mighty power and let us put our trust in you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

God, I pray you would give the world\u2019s healthcare providers and their families the rest they so desperately need. Lord, would you quiet their minds when it is time to sleep and let them rest in the faith and knowledge that you are in control. May they feel safe and secure, knowing that you have them and their patients in the palm of your hand and that you will carry their burdens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians 4:19\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Almighty God, hear our prayers for healthcare workers. We know that you created everything, and everything belongs to you. Your richness is beyond our imagination. And we know that you will provide for us, that you want nothing but the best for us. We pray to you, Father, that you would provide for our healthcare workers and that their needs would be met at this difficult time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Psalm 105:8\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

He has remembered his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Faithful Lord, you are a covenant keeper and will never forget the promises you have given us. You vowed to remember your love to a 1,000 generations. We pray, Lord, that you would be faithful to those whom you have chosen to be nurses, doctors, and all those in healthcare. Lord, would you remember their families, as well, and restore in them a faithfulness in your covenant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Romans 8:28<\/span><\/h3>\n

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Loving Father, we don\u2019t understand everything that is happening right now. But we do know that you are at work, even in bad times, turning the bad things happening into things that will be good for us. We trust in you. We know that in this world we were never guaranteed freedom from trials, difficulty, sickness, or death. Indeed, You did not spare these things from your own son, Jesus, when he was on this earth. But we know that when we look back when this illness has passed we will see that good things did happen, and we\u2019ll know that you were here with us the whole time. And in all those things, may you be glorified.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
